Hello

Thank you for visiting my website. I am Joshua Walker, born in 2009. I have been playing the Pipe Organ since aged nine. I started playing the piano at aged eight, after observing my sister playing, who was eleven at the time.  My Father has always been my Piano and Organ Teacher and I have been playing both instruments everyday, since I began to learn about Music and the art of playing.

My Story

I have been playing Piano and Pipe Organ since aged eight. My Father is my Teacher. I find that Pipe Organs are really enjoyable to play and I enjoy the different sounds that they make, especially when they are played using all the stop sounds available. Using my feet on the full pedal board has become quite a skill that I have developed and I often do not wear shoes whilst playing. Playing for church services  I find, is very rewarding. I can play for funerals, weddings and all types of church services. Sight reading sheet music is also a skill that I have developed, so I can play just about anything for the first time, without a practice. However, in saying this, there are some pieces that do need practicing first, before a performance. I enjoy playing congregational Hymns, voluntaries, Preludes and Fugues, Marches and all other types of music composed for Organ.

Playing for a choir rehearsal, is also enjoyable, but it is something that I need to develop more, given the opportunity. Conducting orchestral pieces and choral music, I am still developing.

Basketball is a great past time for me and I play for a local amateur team. I enjoy playing some video games every now and then. Calligraphy is something that I am working on. One day, I hope to visit the UK and Europe and go on a tour of Great Cathedral Organs. Piano playing is also something that I do all the time and I have composed a few pieces, such as a Concerto. I write music and compose too, in my spare time. I am also home schooled and enjoy learning my curriculum.
